The Yale Museum of Art was a wonderful trip. I'm enjoying this museum for the second time around
I enjoy art work with detail with a series of things going on.
Ave Caesar! Morituri te Salutant (Hail Caesar! We who are about to die saluted You) created by Jean-Leon Gerome (1824-1904); the painting is oil on canvas painted in 1859
Ave Caesar! Morituri te Salutant (Hail Caesar! We who are about to die saluted You)

The lighting in this painting gave it a mid afternoon affect. The shadow over Caesar and the royal group gave me this impression. The armed men had bright rays of sun beaming on them. The armed men in the middle of this painting looked as if they were champions. Those were dead on the ground exhibited great pain. The amount of blood shed on the ground showed how powerful this great battle was. Some of the thousands of spectator appeared expressionless or appeared to show sorrow. One of the Greek Gods who were in all white, to the left of Caesar appeared to be in deep prayer while the other looked on with the other spectators

The Circumcision Of Christ
The Circumcision Of Christ created in 1632 is oil on canvas created by Francois Dudier de Nome (1593-1634).
This portrait portrays to me a criminal act hidden behind a Grand Temple (which is what they called the church back then).
The painting is decorated with its precious gold, marble stone and beautiful architecture. The Priest/ Rabbi of high authority hid behind the Holy cloth they profess to represent. Not really understanding the law of the only True God “Christ Jesus”, they profess to know. “Having the form of Godliness but denying the power there of.”
